An honor cord is a token consisting of twisted cords with tassels at either end to indicate members of honor societies for various academic clubs and non-academic achievements, awards, or honors. They are most often worn at academic ceremonies and functions. They are worn with your cap and gown, by graduation candidates at the discretion of the educational institution. It is also by tradition more than one cord may be worn at the same time.
